I just took delivery of my new Smart ForTwo Cabrio car on Thursday, and I have to say that I..LOVE..THIS..CAR!! My first exposure to them was on a trip to Paris in 2000. While seated at a sidewalk cafe, a “petite” car pulled backwards into a gap barely large enough for a motorcycle — I was hooked! Alas, California laws do not allow parking perpendicular to a curb. Other than that disappointment, everything else about this car has been a joy. My BMW and Lexus-driving friends all agree that it’s surprisingly roomy inside (it’s always a surprise to get out and realize how small the car actually is). And, as a realtor, being able to park nearly everywhere is a true pleasure. However, my favorite by-product are the smiles it generates as I drive around San Francisco. So if you see me driving by, don’t be shy. Smile and Wave!
